Installation Instructions
1. Position the machine on a level surface, lower the
cutting unit, stop the engine, engage the parking brake
and remove the key from the ignition.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery.
3. Remove the control panel cover to gain access to the
fuse block area.
4. Using the decal as a template, locate, mark and drill
(2) .50” holes in the top of the control console. Make
sure not to contact any wires under the control
console.
5. Clean the mounting surface and apply the control
decal over the holes on the control console.
6. Loosely mount a toggle switch in each hole with the
washers and nuts supplied.
7. Plug the (2) connectors from the accessory wire
harness onto the toggle switch terminals.
8. Slide the new fuse block into mounting position below
the existing fuse block.
9. Using the fuse block as a template, mark the mounting
hole location in the control console. Remove the fuse
block and drill a .203“ dia. mounting hole in the
control console. Make sure not to contact any wires in
the control console.
10. Mount the new fuse block to the console with a #10 x
3/4 in. screw and locknut.
11. Install a T–Tap terminal to the ring terminal wire
(ground) on the power wire harness. Secure the T–Tap
terminal at the location shown in figure 2.
12. Cut off the ring terminal from the ground wire on the
accessory harness. Crimp on a 1/4” male spade
terminal onto the wire (Fig. 1).
13. Secure the ground wire (ring terminal) from the power
harness to a negative battery cable connection bolt.
14. Plug the spade terminal from accessory harness into
the T–Tap on the power harness ground wire.
Important When routing the harness, do not pull it
across sharp edges which may damage the wires. Wires
must not contact any hot or moving parts. Secure the wire
harness with wire ties.
15. Connect the (2) spade terminals from the accessory
wire harness to the (2) spade terminals on the fuse
block wires.
16. Plug the connector from the new fuse block into the
existing fuse block connector.
17. Plug the connector from the power wire harness into
the new fuse block connector.
18. Install the fuses as follows:
For snow thrower applications:
(1) 10 A fuse supplied with the snowthrower
(1) 30A thermal breaker (in new fuse block)
furnished with the kit
(1) 40A fuse (in existing fuse block) furnished with
the kit.
Note: The 30A thermal breaker is used for the chute
rotating circuit.
For rotary broom applications
(2) 5A fuses furnished with the kit (Do not use a
30A thermal breaker).
Note: Make sure the fuses are installed in the
corresponding slots that have the wire connected to the
harness.
19. Plug the power relay into the connector on the power
wire harness.
20. Secure a T–Tap terminal to the temperature gauge
light wire (pink).
21. Plug the spade terminal from the power wire harness
onto the T–Tap terminal.
22. Secure the wire and relay to the control console with a
cable tie
Note: Check switch operation and reverse their location in
control console if they don’t operate in direction shown on
decals. Tighten toggle switch nuts.
23. Re–install the control panel cover.
24. Connect the negative battery cable to the battery.
