fromgasolinecanburnyouandothersandcan
damageproperty.
•Performthisprocedureoutdoors,inanopen
area,whentheengineiscold.Wipeupany
gasolinethatspills.
•Neversmokewhenhandlinggasoline,andstay
awayfromanopenameorwheregasoline
fumesmaybeignitedbyaspark.
1.Positionthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthe
cuttingunits,stoptheengineandengagetheparking
brake.
2.Slowlyloosenandremovethecapfromthefueltank.
3.Cleantheareaaroundthefueltankrollovervalveso
foreignmattercannotfallintothefueltankwhenthe
valveandgrommetareremoved(
Figure1).

4.Loosenthehoseclampsecuringthehosetothe
rollovervalveanddisconnectthehosefromthe
valve(
Figure1).
5.Removetherollovervalveandgrommetfromthe
fueltank(
Figure1).
Note:Toeaseremoval,usealubricantonthevalve
andgrommet,grabvalvewithpliersandtwistback
andforthtodistributelubricantontheparts.Then
pullthevalveoutofthetank.
6.Discardthevalveandgrommet.
7.Installthenewgrommetandfueltankvent.
Lightlylubricatetheinsideandoutsideedgesofthe
grommet(e.g.,lightoil).Partiallyinserttheventinto
thegrommet,placethegrommet/ventintothetank,
andpressonthetopoftheventtoslideitdowninto
thegrommetandfullypositionthepairinthetank.
Important:Ensurethattheundersideofthe
angeontopoftheventisseatedfullyonthe
topoftherubbergrommet,withnogapsor
puckering.
8.Installthehosetotheventwiththehoseclamp
previouslyremoved.
