Important:TheWheelMotorKitInstallation

Instructionscovertheremovalandinstallationof

newwheelmotors,wheelmotorcomponentsand

hydrauliclters.Iftheoriginaltractioncircuit

componentshavebeendamaged,additionalrepairs

andhighpressurehydraulicsystemushing

mustbeperformedpriortoinstallingnewwheel

motors.Contactyourlocaldistributorforadditional

RemovingtheOld

Components(Fig.1)

1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,engagethe

parkingbrake,lowerthecuttingunitsandstopthe

engine.Removethekeyfromtheignitionswitch.

WARNING

Beforedisconnectingorperforminganyworkon

hydraulicsystem,relieveallpressureinsystem.

Stopengine;lowerorsupportallcuttingunits.

Keepbodyandhandsawayfrompinholeleaks

ornozzlesthatejecthydraulicuidunderhigh

pressure.Usepaperorcardboard,nothands,to

searchforleaks.Hydraulicuidescapingunder

pressurecanhavesufcientforcetopenetrate

theskinandcauseseriousinjury.Ifuidis

injectedintotheskin,itmustbesurgically

removedwithinafewhoursbyadoctorfamiliar

withthistypeofinjury.Gangrenemayresult

fromsuchaninjury.

CAUTION

Whenchangingattachments,tiresorperforming

otherservice,usecorrectblocks,hoistsand

jacks.Makesurethemachineisparkedon

asolid,levelsurfacesuchasaconcreteoor.

Priortoraisingthemachine,removeany

attachmentsthatmayinterferewiththesafeand

properraisingofthemachine.Alwayschock

orblockthewheels.Usejackstandsorother

appropriateloadholdingdevicestosupportthe

raisedmachine.Ifthemachineisnotproperly

supported,themachinemaymoveorfall,which

mayresultinpersonalinjury.

2.Removethefrontwheelsfromthemachineas

follows:

•Chocktherearwheelstopreventthemachine

fromshifting.

•Loosenthelugnutsonthefrontwheels.

•Usingajack,raisethemachinesothewheelis

offtheground.Supportthemachinewithjack

stands.RefertoyourOperatorsManualforthe

properjackinginstructions.

•Releasetheparkingbrake.

•Removethelugnutsandthenremovethewheel

andbrakedrumfromthemachine.

3.Removethecotterpinandclevispinthatsecurethe

brakecableclevistothebrakeactuatorlever.Position

thebrakecableclevisawayfromtheactuatorlever.

Note:Machineswithserialnumbers310000001or

higher,alsohavebrakespring/bracketassemblies.

Careshouldbetakentoremovethespringssothat

theyarenotlostordiscarded.

4.Loosen,butdonotfullyremove,thelocknutthat

securesthewheelhubtothewheelmotor.Loosen

thelocknutatleasttwoturns.Thiswillpreventthe

hubfromyingoffasthetaperreleases.

Important:DONOThitthewheelhub,puller

orwheelmotorwithahammerduringthewheel

hubremovalorinstallation.Hammeringmay

causedamagetothewheelmotor.

If the original traction circuit components have been damaged, additional repairs and high pressure hydraulic system flushing must be performed prior to installing new wheel motors.

5. Use a appropriate puller (TOR6004) to loosen the wheel hub from the wheel motor. 11. Put caps or plugs on the disconnected lines and fittings to prevent contamination. 6. Remove the lock nut and wheel hub from the motor shaft. 12. Support each wheel motor to prevent them from falling. 7. Remove the (4) screws securing the brake assembly to the brake adapter. Remove the brake assembly. Discard the screws. 13.
