Note:TheGroundsmaster5900SeriesRotaryMower
mustbeequippedwiththeLightKit,Model31582to
operatetheRegistrationPlateKitLight.
1.Positionthemachineonalevelsurface,stopthe
engine,removetheignitionkeyandengageparking
brake.
CAUTION
Ifyouleavethekeyintheignitionswitch,
someonecouldaccidentlystarttheengineand
seriouslyinjureyouorotherbystanders.
Removethekeyfromtheignitionswitchbefore
youdoanymaintenance.
2.Mounttheplatelighttotheregistrationplatewith(2)
#10x5/8inchscrewsand#10locknuts(Figure1).
Donotovertighten.Makesurethelenspoints
downwardandthewiresareinsertedthroughthe
holeintheplatemount.

3.Removethe(2)screwsandnutssecuringtheslow
movingvehiclesigntothebumper(Figure1).
Note:Iftheslowmovingvehiclesignwassecured
withselftappingscrews,thebumpermountingholes,
inbothwalls,mustbeenlargedto.281inch(.7cm)
diameterholesbeforethesigncanbere-installed.
4.Using(2)1/4x2-3/4inchscrewsand1/4inchnuts,
mounttheslowmovingvehiclesign(ifrequired)and
theregistrationplatetothebumper(
Figure1).
5.UsingthewiresincludedwiththeLightKit,connect
theregistrationplatelightwirestothelightkit
harness.
Important:Makesurethewiresareclearofall
hot,sharpormovingcomponents.
6.Securethewirestobumperwiththecabletie
mountingpadsandcableties(
Figure1).
Important:Makesurethemountingsurfaceis
cleanedwithrubbingalcoholbeforeinstalling
themountingpads.Pressandholdthe
mountingpadfor15secondswheninstalling.
7.Checktheoperationoftheregistrationplatelight.
