Note:Squealingwhenthebeltisrotating,bladesslipping
whencuttinggrass,frayedbeltedges,burnmarks,andcracks
aresignsofawornmowerbelt.Replacethemowerbeltifany
oftheseconditionsareevident.
1.Installthemowerbelt(Figure4andFigure5),if
removed.RefertotheReplacingtheMowerBelt
sectionintheOperator'sManual.

Operation
AdjustingtheHeight
Important:Applyingexcessivedownwardpressurewith
thestripingbarmaydamageturfandthestripingkit.
Important:Toavoiddamagetolandscapingandthe
stripingbar,avoidclosetrimmingwiththestripingkit
installed.Replacethewiperyearly,ormoreoftenas
wearrequires.
Important:Avoidobstaclesthatcandamagethekit.
Temporarilyliftthedecktothetransportpositionwhen
performingturnsormovinginreverse.
Important:Raisethemowerdeckwiththestripingkit
installedtothetransportpositionwhennotinuseto
avoiddamagingthewiper.
Bestresultsfromnormalstripingareachievedwhenyouset
thebottomedgeofthewiperto1/2-1/4inchbelowthe
bottomofthedeck(
Figure6).
Tochangethestripingeffectofthemower,raiseorlower
thewiperheightbyadjustingthestripingbracketposition
asfollows:
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurfaceanddisengagethe
bladecontrolswitch.
2.Movethemotioncontrolleversoutwardtotheneutral
position,engageparkingbrake,stoptheengine,remove
thekey,andwaitforallmovingpartstostopbefore
leavingtheoperatingposition.
3.Loosenthe2washer-headscrews(self-threading)that
securethestripingbracket(Figure6).
4.Adjustthestripingbracketpositionasfollows:
Increasethestripingeffectbyloweringthestriping
bracketuntilthedesiredstripingeffectisattained
(
Figure6).
Decreasethestripingeffectbyraisingthestriping
bracketuntilthedesiredstripingeffectisattained
(Figure6).
5.Ensurethestripingbracketisadjustedleveltothe
ground.
6.Tightenthe2washer-headscrews(self-threading)that
securethestripingbracket(Figure6).
