2.Separatethecuttingunitfromthetractionunit;referto

cuttingunit,removethegroomingreel;refertoyour

3.Removethebedbarfromthecuttingunit;refertoyour

Operator’sManualfortheremovalprocedure.

4.Removethebeltcoverandthereeldrivebeltfrom

theleftsideofthecuttingunit;refertoyourOperator’s

Manualfortheprocedure.

5.Blockthereelwithapieceofwoodtopreventitfrom

turning.Removetheangenutsecuringthedrive

pulleytothereelshaft(

Figure2andFigure3).Remove

thepulleyfromtheshaft.Removethewoodruffkey

andthespacerfromthereelshaft.

6.Loosenandremovethe2locknuts,capscrews,and

lockwasherssecuringthereeldriveplateassemblyto

theleftsideofthecuttingunit(

Figure1).Remove

theassemblyfromcuttingunitsideplate.Removethe

spacer(ifequipped)frombehindthereeldriveplate.

1.Loosenthescrewssecuringtherearroller.

2.Removethe2screws,washers,andlocknutssecuring

thecounterweighttotherightendofthecuttingunit

(Figure2).

3.Removethereelbearinglocknutfromtherightside

ofthereel(Figure2).

Note:Thereelbearinglocknuthaslefthandthreads.

4.Removethesideplatesfromtheframeandreel;refer

toyourOperator’sManual.Removethereel.

5.Removeanddiscardboththeoilsealsfromeach

bearinghousing(Figure2).

6.Removeanddiscardthebearingfromthelefthand

sideplate.

7.Removeanddiscardtheretainingrings,bearing,wave

washer,andthrustwasherfromtherighthandside

plate.

8.Cleanthebearinghousings.

5. Remove and discard both the oil seals from each bearing housing (Figure 3). 7. Install the new bearing into the left hand bearing housing or sideplate (Figure 6). 2. Install the retaining ring, thrust washer, wave washer, bearing, and retaining ring into the right hand bearing housing or sideplate (Figure 5). 3.

For Models with Removable Bearing Housings 5. Remove the V–ring from the sleeve on each end of the reel shaft (Figure 7). Note: Inspect the sleeves and replace them as required. A special sleeve driver is available; contact your Toro Distributor to obtain this tool. Press a new sleeve onto the end of each reel shaft until the sleeve is flush with the step in the shaft. 1. Insert both the bearing housings (Figure 3) through the frame onto the reel shaft. 2. Push the housing onto the reel shaft.
