Replacing the Hydrostat During the procedure of replacing the hydrostat, install the check valve; refer to Installing the Check Valve (page 2). Refer to the service manual for instructions on replacing the hydrostat. Installing the Check Valve These instructions apply to machines that have already had the hydrostat installed. 1. Park the machine on a level surface, shut off the engine, set the parking brake, and remove the key from the ignition switch.

Note: Remove the oil-absorbent pads and wipe the area for any residual oil. 15. Check the level of the hydraulic fluid, and add fluid if necessary; refer to the machine Operator’s Manual. 16. Test machine function as follows: A. Verify that the machine returns to neutral reliably and repeatedly. The machine must stop immediately when you release the traction control lever. Figure 5 1.
