RemovingtheBlades

1.Disengagetheblade-controlswitch(PTO).

2.Shutofftheengine,waitforallmovingpartsto

stop,andremovethekeybeforeleavingthe

operatingposition.

3.Toaccesstheblades,dooneofthefollowing

steps:

•Raisethemowerdecktothehighestposition

andraisethefrontofthemachineand

supportitwithjackstands.

Note:Donotrelysolelyonmechanicalor

hydraulicjacksforsupport.Useadequate

jackstandsorequivalentsupport.

•Removethemowerdeckasdescribedinthe

Operator’sManualforthemachine.

4.Holdthebladeendusingaragorthickly-padded

glove.Removethebladebolt,curvedwasher,

andbladefromthespindleshaft(Figure1).

Installing the Blades 1. Install the blade onto the spindle shaft (Figure 1). Important: The sail area (curved part) of the blade must point upward toward the inside of the mower deck to ensure proper cutting. g237146 Figure 1 1. Sail area of blade 2. Blade 3. Curved washer 4. Blade bolt 2. Install the curved washer (cupped side toward the blade) and the blade bolt (Figure 1). 3. Torque the blade bolt to 47-88 N∙m (35-65 ft-lb).
