Holdtheblade-controlbartotheupperhandleandpullthe
recoil-starterropethroughtheropeguideonthehandle
(Figure4).

Important:Yourmachinedoesnotcomewithoilin
theengine.Beforestartingtheengine,lltheengine
withoil.
1.Movethemachinetoalevelsurface.
2.Removethedipstick(Figure5)andpourabout3/4of
thecrankcasecapacityofoilintotheoil-lltube.
Note:Max.ll:0.47L(16oz),type:10W-30orSAE
30detergentoilwithanAPIserviceclassicationof
SJorhigher.

4.Insertthedipstickintotheoil-lltube.
5.Removethedipstickandreadtheoillevelonthe
dipstick(Figure5).
IftheoillevelisbelowtheAddmark,addasmall
amountofoilslowlytotheoil-lltube,wait3
minutes,andthenrepeatsteps3through5until
theoillevelonthedipstickisattheFullmark.
IftheoillevelisabovetheFullmark,drainthe
excessoiluntiltheoillevelonthedipstickisat
theFullmark.Todraintheexcessoil,referto
ChangingtheEngineOil(page12).
Important:Iftheoillevelinthecrankcaseis
toolowortoohighandyouruntheengine,
youmaydamagetheengine.
6.Installthedipsticksecurely.
