Storethemachineinacool,clean,dryplace.

1.Onthelastrefuelingoftheyear,addfuel
stabilizer(suchasToroPremiumFuel
Treatment)tothefuel.
2.Disposeofanyunusedfuelproperly.Recycle
itaccordingtolocalcodes,oruseitinyour
automobile.
Note:Oldfuelinthefueltankistheleading
causeofhardstarting.Donotstorefuelwithout
stabilizermorethan30days,anddonotstore
stabilizedfuelmorethan90days.
3.Runthemachineuntiltheengineshutsofffrom
runningoutoffuel.
4.Starttheengineagain.
5.Allowtheenginetorununtilitshutsoff.
Whenyoucannolongerstarttheengine,itis
sufcientlydry.
6.Disconnectthewirefromthesparkplugand
removetheelectric-startbutton(electric-start
modelonly).
7.Removethesparkplug,add30ml(1oz)of
engineoilthroughthespark-plughole,andpull
thestarterropeslowlyseveraltimestodistribute
oilthroughoutthecylindertopreventcylinder
corrosionduringtheoff-season.
8.Looselyinstallthesparkplug.
9.Tightenallnuts,bolts,andscrews.
10.Electric-startmodelonly:Chargethebattery
for24hours,thenunplugthebatterycharger
andstorethemachineinanunheatedarea.If
youmuststorethemachineinaheatedarea,
youmustchargethebatteryevery90days.

1.Electric-startmodelonly:Chargethebattery
for24hours;refertoChargingtheBattery(page
21).
2.Checkandtightenallfasteners.
3.Removethesparkplugandspintheengine
rapidlybypullingtherecoil-starthandletoblow
theexcessoilfromthecylinder.
4.Installthesparkplugandtightenitwithatorque
wrenchto20N∙m(15ft-lb).
5.Performanymaintenanceprocedures;referto
PreparingforMaintenance(page19).
6.Checktheengine-oillevel;refertoCheckingthe
Engine-OilLevel(page11).
7.Fillthefueltankwithfreshfuel;refertoFilling
theFuelTank(page10).
8.Connectthewiretothesparkplug.
