Important:Tostarttheenginesafelyandeasily
wheneveryouusethemachine,installtherecoil-starter
ropeintheropeguide.
Holdtheblade-controlbartotheupperhandleandpullthe
recoil-starterropethroughtheropeguideonthehandle
(Figure4).

Important:Yourmachinedoesnotcomewithoilin
theengine.Beforestartingtheengine,lltheengine
withoil.
1.Movethemachinetoalevelsurface.
2.Removethedipstick(Figure5)andpourabout3/4of
thecrankcasecapacityofoilintotheoil-lltube.
Note:Max.ll:0.59L(20oz),type:SAE30orSAE
10W-30detergentoilwithanAPIserviceclassication
ofSF,SG,SH,SJ,SL,orhigher.

3.Wipeoffthedipstickendwithacleancloth.
4.Insertthedipstickintotheoil-lltube,butdonot
screwitin.
5.Removethedipstickandreadtheoillevelonthe
dipstick(Figure5).
Iftheoillevelistoolow,addasmallamountof
oilslowlytotheoil-lltube,andthenrepeatsteps
3through5untiltheoillevelonthedipstickis
correct.
Iftheoillevelistoohigh,draintheexcessoiluntil
theoillevelonthedipstickiscorrect.Todrainthe
excessoil,refertoChangingtheEngineOil(page
16).
Important:Iftheoillevelinthecrankcaseis
toolowortoohighandyouruntheengine,
youmaydamagetheengine.
6.Installthedipsticksecurely.
Important:
Change the engine oil after the r st 5
