FillingtheFuelTank
DANGER
Gasolineisextremelyammableandexplosive.A
reorexplosionfromgasolinecanburnyouand
others.
•Topreventastaticchargefromignitingthe
gasoline,placethecontainerand/ormachine
directlyonthegroundbeforelling,notina
vehicleoronanobject.
•Fillthetankoutdoorswhentheengineiscold.
Wipeupspills.
•Donothandlegasolinewhensmokingoraround
anopenameorsparks.
•Storegasolineinanapprovedfuelcontainer,out
ofthereachofchildren.
•Forbestresults,useonlyclean,fresh(lessthan30days
old),unleadedgasolinewithanoctaneratingof87or
higher((R+M)/2ratingmethod).
•Oxygenatedfuelwithupto10%ethanolor15%MTBE
byvolumeisacceptable.
•Ethanol:Gasolinewithupto10%ethanol(gasohol)
or15%MTBE(methyltertiarybutylether)byvolume
isacceptable.EthanolandMTBEarenotthesame.
Gasolinewith15%ethanol(E15)byvolumeisnot
approvedforuse.Neverusegasolinethatcontainsmore
than10%ethanolbyvolume,suchasE15(contains15%
ethanol),E20(contains20%ethanol),orE85(contains
upto85%ethanol).Usingunapprovedgasolinemay
causeperformanceproblemsand/orenginedamage
whichmaynotbecoveredunderwarranty.
•Donotusegasolinecontainingmethanol.
•Donotstorefueleitherinthefueltankorinfuel
containersoverthewinterunlessafuelstabilizerisused.
•Donotaddoiltogasoline.
Fillthefueltankwithfreshunleadedregulargasolinefroma
majorname-brandservicestation(Figure8).
Important:Toreducestartingproblems,addfuel
stabilizertothefuelallseason,mixingitwithgasoline
lessthan30daysold.

1.Removethedipstick,wipeitclean,andinsertitintothe
oil-llerneck,butdonotscrewitin(Figure9).

2.Removethedipstickandchecktheoillevel(Figure9).
IftheoillevelisbelowtheAddmarkonthedipstick,
slowlypouroilintotheoil-lltubetoraisetheoillevel
totheFullmarkonthedipstick.Donotoverll.(Max.
ll:0.65L(22oz),type:10W-30orSAE30detergent
oilwithanAPIserviceclassicationofSJorhigher.)

itasdirectedinChangingtheEngineOil(page12).
