Product Overview Remove the dipstick and read the oil level on the dipstick; refer to Figure 5. • If the oil is below the Add mark on the dipstick, slowly pour a small amount of oil into the oil-fill tube, wait 3 minutes, and then repeat steps 3 through 5 until the oil level is at the Full mark on the dipstick. • If the oil is above the Full mark on the dipstick, drain the excess oil until the oil level is at the Full mark on the dipstick.
Checking the Engine Oil Level Operation Service Interval: Before each use or daily Filling the Fuel Tank Note: Max. fill: 0.59 l (20 fl. oz.), type: SAE 30 detergent oil with an API service classification of SF, SG, SH, SJ, SL, or higher. Adjusting the Cutting Height Starting the Engine 1. WARNING Hold the blade-control bar against the handle (Figure 11). Adjusting the cutting height may bring you into contact with the moving blade, causing serious injury. • Stop the engine and wait for all moving parts to stop. • Do not put your fingers under the housing when adjusting the cutting height. CAUTION If the engine has been running, the muffler will be hot and can severely burn you. Keep away from the hot muffler.
Note: If the machine does not start after several attempts, contact an Authorized Service Dealer. to Removing the Side-discharge Chute (page 12) before recycling the clippings. Using the Self-propel Drive Bagging the Clippings To operate the self-propel drive, simply walk with your hands on the upper handle and your elbows at your sides, and the machine will automatically keep pace with you (Figure 14). Use the grass bag when you want to collect grass and leaf clippings from the lawn.
Installing the Grass Bag 1. • For bagging the grass and leaf clippings, press the button on the bag-on-demand lever, and move the lever forward until the button on the lever pops up (Figure 16). Side-discharging the Clippings Installing the Side-discharge Chute Use the side discharge for cutting very tall grass. Lift up the side deflector and install the side-discharge chute (Figure 18). If the grass bag is on the machine and the bag-on-demand lever is in the bagging position, move the lever to the recycling position; refer to Operating the Bag-on-Demand Lever (page 11). WARNING The blade is sharp; contacting the blade can result in serious personal injury.

Important: If the oil level in the crankcase is too low or too high and you run the engine, you may damage the engine. Replacing the Fuse 14. Install the dipstick into the oil-fill tube securely. 15. Dispose of the used oil properly at a local recycling center. If the battery does not charge or the engine does not run with the electric starter, the fuse may be blown. Replace it with a 40-amp plug-in type fuse. 1. Raise the rear deflector and locate the battery compartment (Figure 25).
Note: Your machine comes with a spare fuse in the battery compartment. 5. Install the battery compartment with the screw that you removed in step 3. 6. Adjusting the Self-propel Drive Cleaning under the Machine Cable Housing Whenever you install a new self-propel cable or if the self-propel drive is out of adjustment, adjust the self-propel drive cable. 1. Storage 1. Remove the ignition key (electric-start model only). 2. Loosen the handle knobs until you can move the upper handle freely. 3. Fold the upper handle forward as shown in Figure 32. Schnittgutrecyclen Der Rasenmäher ist werksseitig auf das Recyclen von Schnittgut und Laub eingestellt.
• Zum Sammeln des Schnittguts und Laubs drücken Sie WARNUNG: die Taste am Hebel für den zuschaltbaren Fangkorb und bewegen den Hebel nach vorne, bis die Taste am Hebel herausspringt (Bild 16). Das Messer ist scharf; ein Kontakt damit kann zu schweren Verletzungen führen. Ein geöffneter Heckauswurfbereich kann das Ausschleudern kleiner Steine und ähnlicher Gegenstände in Richtung des Benutzers und Unbeteiligter zulassen.
• Vermeiden Sie, dass das Messer auf Fremdkörper aufprallt. Remarque: Tirez lentement la poignée du lanceur (Figure 13) jusqu'à ce que vous sentiez une résistance, puis tirez vigoureusement. Laissez le lanceur se rétracter lentement jusqu'à la poignée. Remarque: Si vous avez des difficultés à faire reculer la machine après avoir utilisé l'autotraction, immobilisez-vous, laissez vos mains en place et laissez la machine avancer de quelques centimètres pour désengager la transmission aux roues.
Retrait du bac à herbe ATTENTION La lame est tranchante et vous risquez de vous blesser gravement à son contact. Pour retirer le bac à herbe, inversez la procédure de montage décrite plus haut. Coupez le moteur et attendez l'arrêt de toutes les pièces en mouvement avant de quitter la position de conduite.
Montage de l'éjecteur latéral ATTENTION Soulevez le déflecteur latéral et montez l'éjecteur latéral (Figure 18). La lame est tranchante et vous risquez de vous blesser gravement à son contact. De plus, si l'ouverture d'éjection arrière n'est pas fermée, des gravillons ou autres débris similaires peuvent être projetés vers l'utilisateur ou des personnes à proximité, et causer des blessures graves ou mortelles.
Conseils d'utilisation – Tondez plus souvent. Conseils de tonte généraux – Empiétez sur les passages précédents pour ne tondre qu'une largeur de bande réduite. – Réglez la hauteur de coupe des roues avant un cran en dessous de celle des roues arrière. • Vul brandstof bij voordat u de motor start. Verwijder • • nooit de dop van de brandstoftank en vul nooit benzine bij wanneer de motor loopt of heet is. Probeer de motor niet te starten als er brandstof is gemorst. Verwijder de machine dan uit de buurt van de plek waar is gemorst, en voorkom elke vorm van open vuur of vonken totdat de brandstofdampen volledig zijn verdwenen. Doe steeds de dop weer zorgvuldig op brandstoftanks en -containers.
• U moet de onderdelen van de grasvanger en de afvoergeleider veelvuldig controleren en, indien nodig, vervangen door onderdelen die de fabrikant heeft aanbevolen. • Vervang versleten of beschadigde onderdelen met het oog op een veilig gebruik. • Vervang geluiddempers die gebreken vertonen. • Als het nodig is de brandstoftank af te tappen, doe dit dan buiten. • Verander de instellingen van de motor niet en voorkom overbelasting van de motor.

Belangrijk: Als het oliepeil in het carter te hoog of te laag is en u laat de motor toch draaien, kunt u deze beschadigen. 6.

Opmerking: Als de maaimachine niet vrij naar achteren rolt na het inschakelen van de zelfaandrijving, sta dan stil, houd uw handen bij de handgreep en laat de maaimachine een paar centimeter naar voren rollen om het aandrijfsysteem uit te schakelen. U kunt ook de metalen hendel aanraken die zich net onder de bovenste handgreep bevindt en de maaimachine een paar centimeter naar voren duwen. Als de maaimachine nog steeds niet naar achteren wil rollen, moet u contact opnemen met een erkende Service Dealer.
3. Breng de afvoergeleider aan de achterzijde omlaag. WAARSCHUWING Het maaimes is scherp, contact met het maaimes kan ernstig lichamelijk letsel veroorzaken. Door een open uitvoeropening kunnen steentjes en andere voorwerpen worden uitgeworpen in de richting van de gebruiker of de omstanders. Uitgeworpen voorwerpen kunnen ernstig lichamelijk of dodelijk letsel toebrengen aan de gebruiker of omstanders.
• Als de maaimachine toch een voorwerp raakt en begint te trillen, moet u meteen de motor afzetten, de bougiekabel losmaken en de maaimachine op beschadiging controleren. • De beste resultaten krijgt u door een nieuw mes te monteren voordat het maaiseizoen begint. • Vervang indien nodig het maaimes door een Toro-mes. Gras maaien • U moet telkens niet meer dan ongeveer eenderde van de grassprieten afmaaien.
Bladeren fijnmaken • Na het maaien moet altijd 50 % van het gazon zichtbaar blijven door de bladerlaag. Dit kan een of meerdere rondgangen over de bladeren vereisen. • Als er een laag bladeren van meer dan 13 cm op het gazon ligt, moet u de voorwielen een of twee uitsparingen hoger zetten dan de achterwielen. • Als de maaimachine de bladeren niet fijn genoeg maakt, is het beter om wat langzamer te maaien.
Onderhoud Opmerking: Bepaal vanuit de normale bestuurderspositie de linker- en rechterzijde van de machine. Handgreep inklappen Stalling WAARSCHUWING Stal de maaimachine op een koele, schone, droge plaats. Als de handgreep verkeerd wordt in- en uitgeklapt, kunnen de kabels schade oplopen, waardoor de machine niet veilig kan worden gebruikt. • Zorg ervoor dat u de kabels niet beschadigt als u de handgreep in- of uitklapt. • Indien een kabel is beschadigd, moet u contact opnemen met een erkende Service Dealer. Voorbereidingen voor stalling WAARSCHUWING Benzinedampen kunnen tot ontploffing komen.
