•Wearappropriateclothing,includingeyeprotection;
slip-resistant,substantialfootwear;andhearing
protection.Tiebacklonghair,securelooseclothing,and
donotwearjewelry.
•Donotoperatethemachinewhileill,tired,orunderthe
inuenceofalcoholordrugs.
•Thebladesaresharp;contactingthebladescanresult
inseriouspersonalinjury.Shutofftheengine,remove
theignitionkey(electric-startmodelonly),andwaitfor
allmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingtheoperating
position.
•Whenyoureleasetheblade-controlbar,theengineshould
shutoffandthebladesshouldstopwithin3seconds.If
not,stopusingyourmachineimmediatelyandcontactan
AuthorizedServiceDealer.
•Operatethemachineonlyingoodvisibilityand
appropriateweatherconditions.Donotoperatethe
machinewhenthereistheriskoflighting.
•Wetgrassorleavescancauseseriousinjuryifyouslipand
contacttheblades.Avoidmowinginwetconditions.
•Useextremecarewhenapproachingblindcorners,
shrubs,trees,orotherobjectsthatmayblockyourview .
•Watchforholes,ruts,bumps,rocks,orotherhidden
objects.Uneventerraincouldcauseaslip-and-fall
accident.
•Stopthemachineandinspectthebladesafterstrikingan
objectorifthereisanabnormalvibrationinthemachine.
Makeallnecessaryrepairsbeforeresumingoperation.
•Beforeleavingtheoperatingposition,shutofftheengine,
removetheignitionkey(electric-startmodelonly),and
waitforallmovingpartstostop.
•Iftheenginehasbeenrunningthemuferwillbehotand
canseverelyburnyou.Keepawayfromthehotmufer.
•Checkthegrasscatchercomponentsandthedischarge
guardfrequentlyandreplacethemwiththemanufacturer’s
recommendedpartswhennecessary.
•UseaccessoriesandattachmentsapprovedbytheThe
Toro®Companyonly.
SlopeSafety
•Mowacrossthefaceofslopes;neverupanddown.Use
extremecautionwhenchangingdirectiononslopes.
•Donotmowonexcessivelysteepslopes.Poorfooting
couldcauseaslip-and-fallaccident.

embankments.
