Ifyoudonothaveatorquewrenchor
areuncomfortableperformingthisprocedure,contact
anAuthorizedServiceDealer.
Examinethebladeswheneveryourunoutofgasoline.Ifthe
bladesaredamagedorcracked,replacethemimmediately.If
thebladeedgesaredullornicked,havethemsharpenedand
balanced,orreplacethem.
DANGER
Awornordamagedbladecanbreak,andapiece
ofthebladecouldbethrowntowardtheoperator
orabystander,resultinginseriouspersonalinjury
ordeath.
Inspectthebladesperiodicallyforwearor
damage.
Replaceawornordamagedblade.
Note:Maintainsharpbladesthroughoutthecuttingseason,
becausesharpbladescutcleanlywithouttearingorshredding
thegrassblades.

1.Inspectthecuttingedges(Figure40).Iftheedgesare
notsharporhavenicks,removethebladesandhave
themsharpenedorreplacethem.

2.Inspectthebladesthemselves,especiallythecurved
area(Figure40).Ifyounoticeanydamage,wear,ora
slotforminginthisarea,immediatelyreplaceitwith
anewblade.
DANGER
Ifyouallowabladetowear,aslotwillform
betweenthesailandatpartoftheblade.
Eventuallyapieceoftheblademaybreak
offandbethrownfromunderthehousing,
possiblyresultinginseriousinjurytoyouor
bystanders.
Inspectthebladeperiodicallyforwearor
damage.
Nevertrytostraightenabladethatisbent
orweldabrokenorcrackedblade.
Replaceawornordamagedblade.
