soonafterward.

Drive
Thismachinehas3groundspeeds:1(slow),2(medium),
and3(fast);italsohasaNeutral(N)position.The
self-propel-driveleverislocatedbelowandbehindthefuel
tank(Figure17).

Note:Youcanvarythegroundspeedbyincreasingor
decreasingthedistancebetweentheblade-controlbar
andthehandle.Lowerthebartodecreasetheground
speedwhenyouaremakingaturnorifthemachine
ismovingtoofastforyou.Ifyoulowerthebartoo
far,themachinestopsself-propelling.Squeezethe
barclosertothehandletoincreasethegroundspeed.
Whenyouholdthebartightagainstthehandle,the
machineself-propelsatthemaximumgroundspeed.
Movetheself-propel-drivelevertotheNeutralposition
whenyouusethemachinefortrimming.
RecyclingtheClippings
Thismachinecomesfromthefactoryreadytorecyclegrass
andleafclippingsbackintothelawn.Topreparethemachine
torecycle:
•Ifthegrassbagisonthemachine,removeit;referto
RemovingtheGrassBag(page14).
•Iftherear-dischargeplugisnotinstalled,gripitby
thehandle,raisethereardoor,andinsertitintothe
rear-dischargechuteuntilthelatchlocksintoplace
(Figure19).
