•Checktheengine-oillevel.
•Inspecttheaircleanerelements.
•Inspectthemowerbladesforwearordamage.
•Inspecttheacceleratorforwearordamage.
•Removegrassclippingsanddirtfromunderthemachine.
•Checkthestoppingtimeofthebladebrake.Theblademuststopwithin3seconds
ofreleasingtheblade-controlbar;ifitdoesnot,contactanAuthorizedService
Dealerforrepair.
Every50hours
•Cleantheairlterelements.Cleanthemmorefrequentlyindustyoperating
conditions.
•Sharpenorreplacetheblade.Maintainitmorefrequentlyiftheedgedullsquicklyin
roughorinsandyconditions.
•Removegrassclippingsanddebrisfromunderthebeltcover.
•Haveanauthorizedengineservicingdealerchecktheywheelbrakeoperation.
Every100hours
•Changetheengineoil.
•Inspect,clean,andadjustthesparkpluggap;replacethesparkplugifnecessary.
•Haveanauthorizedengineservicingdealercheckandadjusttheywheelbrakepad.
Every200hours
•Replacetheaircleanerelements.Replacethemmorefrequentlyindustyoperating
conditions.
•Haveanauthorizedengineservicingdealercheckforleaksinthefuelsystemand/or
adeterioratingfuelhose.Replacepartsifnecessary.
•Haveanauthorizedengineservicingdealercheckandadjusttheengineidlespeed,
checkandadjustthevalveclearance,andcleanthefueltankandthefuellter.
Important:Refertoyourengineowner'smanualforadditionalmaintenanceprocedures.
CAUTION
Ifyouleavethewireonthesparkplug,someonecouldaccidentlystarttheengineandseriouslyinjure
youorbystanders.
Disconnectthewirefromthesparkplugbeforeyoudoanymaintenance.Setthewireasidesothatitdoes
notaccidentlycontactthesparkplug.

ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily—Inspecttheair
cleanerelements.
Every50hours—Cleantheairlterelements.Clean
themmorefrequentlyindustyoperatingconditions.
Every200hours—Replacetheaircleanerelements.
Replacethemmorefrequentlyindustyoperating
conditions.
Important:Donotoperatetheenginewithoutthe
airlterassemblyinplace;otherwise,extremeengine
damagewilloccur.
1.Stoptheengineandwaitforallmovingpartstostop.
2.Disconnectthewirefromthesparkplug.
3.Removethe2nutsthatsecurethecover(Figure21).
4.Removethecover.
Note:Becarefultopreventdirtanddebrisfrom
fallingintothebaseoftheaircleaner.
5.Removethefoamandpaperelementsfromthebaseof
theaircleaner(Figure21).
