DANGER
Awornordamagedbladecanbreak,anda
pieceofthebladecouldbethrowninyour
directionorinthedirectionofbystanders,
resultinginseriouspersonalinjuryordeath.
Inspectthebladeperiodicallyforwearor
damage.
Replaceawornordamagedblade.
RemovingtheBlade
1.Grasptheendofthebladeusingaragora
thicklypaddedglove.
2.Removethebladebolt,thelockwasher,the
accelerator,andtheblade(Figure24).
SharpeningtheBlade
ServiceInterval:Every50hours—Sharpenor
replacetheblade.Maintainitmore
frequentlyiftheedgedullsquicklyin
roughorinsandyconditions.
Filethetopsideofthebladetomaintainitsoriginal
cuttingangle(Figure25A)andinnercuttingedge
radius(Figure25B).Thebladewillremainbalancedif
youremovethesameamountofmaterialfromboth
cuttingedges.

BalancingtheBlade
1.Checkthebalanceofthebladebyplacing
thecenterholeofthebladeoveranailor
screwdrivershankclampedhorizontallyinavise
(Figure26).

InstallingtheBlade
1.Installasharp,balancedT oroblade,the
accelerator,thelockwasher,andthebladebolt.
Thesailoftheblademustpointtowardthetop
ofthemowerhousingforproperinstallation.
Note:Torquethebladeboltto68N-m(50ft-lb).
WARNING
Operatingthemachinewithoutthe
acceleratorinplacecancausethe
bladetoex,bend,orbreak,resulting
inseriousinjuryordeathtoyouorto
bystanders.
Donotoperatethemachinewithoutthe
acceleratorinplace.
