1.Checkthebalanceofthebladebyplacingthecenter
holeofthebladeoveranailorscrewdrivershank
clampedhorizontallyinavise(Figure25).

Note:Youcanalsocheckthebalanceusinga
commerciallymanufacturedbladebalancer.
2.Ifeitherendofthebladerotatesdownward,lethat
end(notthecuttingedgeortheendnearthecutting
edge)untilneitherendofthebladedrops.
InstallingtheBlade
1.Installasharp,balancedToroblade,theaccelerator,the
lockwasher,andthebladebolt.Thesailoftheblade
mustpointtowardthetopofthemowerhousingfor
properinstallation.
Note:Torquethebladeboltto68N-m(50ft-lb).
WARNING
Operatingthemachinewithouttheaccelerator
inplacecancausethebladetoex,bend,or
break,resultinginseriousinjuryordeathto
youortobystanders.
Donotoperatethemachinewithoutthe
acceleratorinplace.
2.Returnthemachinetotheoperatingposition.

Toensurethebestperformance,keeptheundersideofthe
mowerhousingclean.Beespeciallycarefultokeepthekickers
freeofdebris(Figure26).
