•Inspecttheacceleratorperiodicallyforwearor

•Replaceawornordamagedaccelerator.
RemovingtheBlade
1.Grasptheendofthebladeusingaragorathickly
paddedglove.
2.Removethebladebolt,thelockwasher,theaccelerator,
andtheblade(Figure26).
SharpeningtheBlade
ServiceInterval:Every50hours—Sharpenorreplacethe
blade.Maintainitmorefrequentlyifthe
edgedullsquicklyinroughorinsandy
conditions.
Filethetopsideofthebladetomaintainitsoriginalcutting
angle(Figure28A)andinnercuttingedgeradius(Figure
28B).Thebladewillremainbalancedifyouremovethesame
amountofmaterialfrombothcuttingedges.

BalancingtheBlade
1.Checkthebalanceofthebladebyplacingthecenter
holeofthebladeoveranailorscrewdrivershank
clampedhorizontallyinavise(Figure29).

2.Ifeitherendofthebladerotatesdownward,lethat
end(notthecuttingedgeortheendnearthecutting
edge)untilneitherendofthebladedrops.
InstallingtheBlade
1.Installasharp,balancedToroblade,theaccelerator,the
lockwasher,andthebladebolt.Thesailoftheblade
mustpointtowardthetopofthemowerhousingfor
properinstallation.
Note:Torquethebladeboltto82N∙m(60ft-lb).

inplacecancausethebladetoex,bend,or
break,resultinginseriousinjuryordeathto
youortobystanders.
Donotoperatethemachinewithoutthe
acceleratorinplace.
