Cleaning
RemovingDebrisfromthe
TractionUnit
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
Important:Operatingtheenginewithblockedscreens,
dirtyorpluggedcoolingns,and/orcoolingshrouds
removed,willresultinenginedamagefromoverheating.
1.Parkthetractionunitonalevelsurface,lowerthe
loaderarms,andstoptheengine.
2.Removethekeyandallowtheenginetocool.
3.Openthehood.
4.Cleananydebrisfromthefrontandsidescreens.
5.Wipeawaydebrisfromtheaircleaner.
6.Cleananydebrisbuild-upontheengineandintheoil
coolernswithabrushorblower.
Important:Itispreferabletoblowdirtout,rather
thanwashingitout.Ifwaterisused,keepitaway
fromelectricalitemsandhydraulicvalves.Do
notuseahigh-pressurewasher.High-pressure
washingcandamagetheelectricalsystemand
hydraulicvalvesordepletegrease.
7.Cleandebrisfromthecoolerfangrillonthehood.
8.Closethehood.
CleaningtheChassis
ServiceInterval:Every100hours—Checkfordirtbuild-up
inthechassis.
Overtime,thechassisundertheenginecollectsdirtand
debristhatmustberemoved.Usingaashlight,openthe
hoodandinspecttheareaundertheengineonaregularbasis.
Whenthedebrisis1to2inchesdeep,completethefollowing
procedure(refertoFigure57throughoutthisprocedure):

1.Liftandsupportthefrontofthetractionunit.
2.Stoptheengineandremovethekey.
3.Disconnectthenegativebatterycable.
4.Removethebolts,washers,andlockwasherssecuring
thetwosideweights,removingtheweights(
Figure57).
5.Opentherearaccesscover.
6.Removethe2carriageboltsandwashersfromthe
batterybase.
7.Removethesixnutsandboltssecuringtherearpanel,
removingthepanel(Figure57).
8.Placeaclamponthefuelline,2inchesfromwhereit
comesoutofthefueltank.
9.Slidethefueltanktotherear(Figure57).
10.Disconnectthefuellinefromthettingonthefuel
tank.
11.Disconnectthetwowiresleadingtotherightsideof
thetank(
Figure58).
