Iftheserviceindicatorisclear,cleananydebris
fromcoverandinstallcover.
Ensurethatthecoverisseatedcorrectlyandseals
withtheaircleanerbody.
Iftheserviceindicatorisred,replacetheairlter
asdescribedinReplacingtheFilters.
ReplacingtheFilters
1.Gentlyslidetheprimarylteroutoftheaircleaner
body(Figure30).Avoidknockingthelterintothe
sideofthebody.
Important:Donotattempttocleantheprimary
lter.
2.Removethesafetylteronlyifyouintendtoreplaceit.
Important:Neverattempttocleanthesafety
lter.Ifthesafetylterisdirty,thentheprimary
lterisdamagedandyoushouldreplaceboth
lters.
3.Inspectthenewlter(s)fordamagebylookinginto
thelterwhileshiningabrightlightontheoutsideof
thelter.Holesinthelterwillappearasbrightspots.
Inspecttheelementfortears,anoilylm,ordamageto
therubberseal.Ifthelterisdamageddonotuseit.
4.Ifyouarereplacingthesafetylter,carefullyslidethe
newlterintothelterbody(Figure30).
Important:Topreventenginedamage,always
operatetheenginewithbothairltersandcover
installed.
5.Carefullyslidetheprimarylteroverthesafetylter
(Figure30).Ensurethatitisfullyseatedbypushingon
theouterrimofthelterwhileinstallingit.
Important:Donotpressonthesoftinsidearea
ofthelter.
6.Installtheaircleanercoverwiththesideindicatedas
UPfacingupandsecurethelatches(Figure30).
7.Closethehood.
ServicingtheEngineOil
ServiceInterval:Aftertherst50hours
Every100hours—Changetheengineoil.
Every200hours—Changetheoillter.
Note:Changeoilandltermorefrequentlywhenoperating
conditionsareextremelydustyorsandy.

ChangingtheOil
1.Starttheengineandletitrunforveminutes.This
warmstheoilsoitdrainsbetter.
2.Parkthetractionunitsothatthedrainsideisslightly
lowerthantheoppositesidetoensurethattheoil
drainscompletely.
3.Lowertheloaderarms,settheparkingbrake,stopthe
engine,andremovethekey.
CAUTION
Componentswillbehotifthetractionunithas
beenrunning.Ifyoutouchhotcomponents
youmaybeburned.
Allowthetractionunittocoolbefore
performingmaintenanceortouching
componentsunderthehood.
