grinder.
Stopthegrinderimmediatelyifanypeopleor
animalsentertheworkarea.
WARNING
Grindingastumpwillthrowwoodchips,soil,and
otherdebrisintotheairwhichcouldinjureyouor
bystanders.
Alwaysweareyeprotectionwhenusingthe
grinder.
Keepallbystandersasafedistancefromthe
grinder.
WARNING
Thegrinderisveryloudwhencuttingastumpand
candamageyourears.
Alwayswearhearingprotectionwhenusingthe
grinder.
1.Starttheengine,raisethegrinder,setthethrottlelever
totheFastposition,andmovethemachinetothe
stumptobeground.
2.Usethegrindercontrolleverandthetractioncontrol
topositionthegrindertoonesideofthefrontof
thestump,aboutaninchbelowthetopofthestump
surface(Figure23).

3.Startthegrinderandwaitforittogetuptofullspeed.
4.Usethegrindercontrollevertoswingthegrinder
slowlyacrossthefaceofthestump,cuttingawaya
swathofchips(Figure23).
Important:Donotforcethegrindertomovetoo
fast.Insteadallowittocutthroughthewood
withoutboggingdownorlosingspeed.
5.Movethemachineforwardafewinchesandrepeat
step4(Figure23).
6.Repeatsteps4through5untilyouhavegroundoffthe
entirefaceofthestump(Figure23).
7.Backupthemachine,positionthegrindertotheside
ofthefrontofthestump,andlowerittoaboutaninch
belowthesurfacethatwasjustground.
8.Repeatsteps4through7untilthestumpisground
away.
9.Ifthereareanylargerootstobeground,positionthe
grinderovereachrootandusethetractioncontroland
