Installing the Gutter Brush 4. Important: You may discard all removed parts unless otherwise noted. Install the brush head to the gutter brush using the bolt, lock washer and retaining washer (Figure 2). WARNING Seek immediate medical attention if fluid is injected into skin. Injected fluid must be surgically removed within a few hours by a doctor.

6. Secure the gutter brush to the corner of the pick-up broom with the adjustment chain; refer to Adjusting the Gutter Brush Height (page 5). 7. Mark which hose is in which port on the pick-up broom motor and disconnect the hoses; plug the hose ends and set them aside for later installation. 8. Support the pick-up broom brush and broom shaft so that the broom will not fall when removing the pick-up broom hydraulic motor. 9.

Completing the Installation 1. Tighten all the hose connections. 2. Connect the traction unit battery; refer to your Operator’s Manual. 3. Turn on the traction unit and test the gutter brush operation; with the pick-up broom spinning forward (clockwise when looking from the motor end), the gutter brush should throw material in front of the pick-up broom. 4.

Adjusting the Gutter Brush Height Operation Adjusting the Gutter Brush Speed Adjust the position of the adjustment chain to raise or lower the gutter brush. Lift up on the brush and place the adjustment chain in the slot for the desired brush height (Figure 7). The gutter brush is equipped with a variable-speed knob on top of the gutter brush manifold (Figure 6). When the gutter brush is not in use, pull the chain back as far as possible to raise it into the storage position.

Maintenance Miscellaneous Maintenance • Check for wear on brush head; if the wire length of the gutter brush is less than 15.25 cm or 6 inches (about half the original length), the brush head needs to be replaced. Lubricating the Brush Cutter 1. Park the traction unit on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and lower the loader arms. 2. Shut off the traction unit engine and remove the key. 3. Clean the grease fittings with a rag. 4.
