inspecttheywheelslots.Theblademountingareas
mustbecleansothereplacementbladeswillmount
ushagainsttheywheel.
Important:Itisveryimportanttoconsistently
maintainthe35-degreeangleforproperchipping
performance.
4.Reversethebladetousethesecondsharpedge,or
installneworsharpenedbladesandngertightenthe
boltsandlocknutstoholdthebladestotheywheel.
5.Tightenthecenterboltsandnutsrst,thentightenthe
outerboltsandnuts,andnallytightentheinnerbolts
andnut.Seesequencefortightening(Figure29).
6.Torquethebladeboltsto58-72N-m(43-53ft-lb).
7.Scrapeanysap,mulch,and/ordirtfrominsidethe
topcoverofthehousingtopreventtheywheelfrom
rubbingonit.
ChargingtheBattery
Important:Alwayskeepthebatteryfullycharged(1.265
specicgravity).Thisisespeciallyimportanttoprevent
batterydamagewhenthetemperatureisbelow32F
(05C).
Chargingthebatteryproducesgasesthatcanexplode.
Neversmokenearthebatteryandkeepsparksand
amesawayfrombattery.
1.Removethebatterycover.
2.Cleanthetopofthebatterywithapapertowel.
3.Chargethebatteryfor10to15minutesat25to30
ampsor30minutesat4to6amps.Donotovercharge
thebattery(Figure30).
