3.Inspectthenewlter(s)fordamagebylookinginto
thelterwhileshiningabrightlightontheoutside
ofthelter.Holesinthelterwillappearasbright
spots.Inspecttheelementfortears,anoilylm,or
damagetotherubberseal.Ifthelterisdamaged
donotuseit.
4.Ifyouarereplacingthesafetylter,carefullyslide
thenewlterintothelterbody(Figure33).
Important:Topreventenginedamage,always
operatetheenginewithbothairltersandcover
installed.
5.Carefullyslidetheprimarylteroverthesafetylter
(Figure33).Ensurethatitisfullyseatedbypushing
ontheouterrimofthelterwhileinstallingit.
Important:Donotpressonthesoftinsidearea
ofthelter.
6.Installtheaircleanercoverwiththedustcaporiented
asshowninFigure33andsecurethelatches.
ServicingtheEngineOil
ServiceInterval:Aftertherst8hours—Changethe
engineoil.
Beforeeachuseordaily—Checkthe
engineoillevel.
Every100hours—Changetheengine
oil.
Every200hours—Changetheoil
lter.
Note:Changetheoilmorefrequentlywhenthe
operatingconditionsareextremelydustyorsandy.
OilType:Detergentoil(APIserviceSF,SG,SH,orSJ)
CrankcaseCapacity:58ounces(1.7liter)withthelter
removed;51ounces(1.5liter)withoutthelterremoved

2.Lowertheboomandsettheparkingbrake.
3.Stoptheengine,removethekey,andwaitforall
movingpartstostopbeforeleavingtheoperating
position.
4.Cleanaroundtheoildipstick(Figure35)sothatdirt
cannotfallintothellerholeanddamagetheengine.
