14.Loopthechainovertheaugerdriveshaftandontothe
drivesprocket,ensuringthattheteethpointforward
ontheupperspan.
15.Settheupperspanofthechainintoplaceonthe
trencherboom,thenwrapthechainaroundtheroller
attheendoftheboom.
16.Threadtheadjustmentboltintotheboomandturnit
inuntilthereis3.8to6.3cm(1-1/2to2-1/2inches)of
slackinthechainonthebottomspan.
17.Threadthejamnutdowntheadjustingboltandtighten
itsecurelyagainsttheboom.
18.Torquethe2boltsandnutssecuringtheboomto183
to223N-m(135to165ft-lb).
19.Installthespoilsaugerusingtheboltandnutyou
removedpreviously.
Note:Torquetheboltandnutto102N-m(75ft-lb).
