BeltMaintenance
ReplacingthePumpDriveBelt
Ifthepumpdrivebeltbeginstosquealoriscracked,
worn,orfrayed,replaceit.ContactyouAuthorized
ServiceDealerforareplacementbelt.
1.Raisetheboomandsettheparkingbrake.
2.Stoptheengine,removethekey,andwaitforall
movingpartstostopbeforeleavingtheoperating
position.
3.Raisethebackofthemachineandsupportitonjack
stands.
4.Removethebottomshield;refertoRemovingthe
BottomShield.
5.Loosenthetwopumpbolts(
Figure53).

6.Twistthepumpcounterclockwiseandallowitto
dropdownawayfromthepulley(Figure53).Ensure
thatthespidercouplerdropsdownwiththepump.
7.Usingaspringpuller(contactyourAuthorized
ServiceDealer)orstiffmetalhook,pulltheendof
theidlerpulleysprintoffofthespringbolttorelease
tensiononthebelt(Figure53).
8.Removethebelt.
9.Routeanewbeltaroundthepulleys.
10.Installtheidlerpulleyspringonthebolt.
11.Ensurethatthespidercouplerisinplaceonthe
pumpandtheninsertitintothepulley,twistingit
clockwisetoseatitonthepumpbolts.
12.Torquethepumpboltsto50ft-lb(68N-m).
13.Installthebottomshield.
ControlsSystem
Maintenance
Thefactoryadjuststhecontrolsbeforeshippingthe
machine.However,aftermanyhoursofuse,youmay
needtoadjustthetractioncontrolalignment,theneutral
positionofthetractioncontrol,andthetrackingofthe
tractioncontrolinthefullforwardposition.
Important:Toadjustthecontrolsproperly,
completeeachprocedureintheorderlisted.
AdjustingtheTractionControl
Alignment
Ifthetractioncontrolbardoesnotrestushand
squarewiththereferencebarwheninthefullbackward
position,immediatelycompletethefollowingprocedure:
1.Parkthemachineonaatsurfaceandlowerthe
boom.
2.Stoptheengineandremovethekey.
3.Pullstraightbackonthetractioncontrolsothefront
ofthecontrolcontactsthereferencebar(
Figure54).
