•Whenremovingorinstallingthebattery,
donotallowthebatteryterminalstotouch
anymetalpartsofthetractionunit.
•Donotallowmetaltoolstoshortbetween
thebatteryterminalsandmetalpartsofthe
tractionunit.
RemovingtheBattery
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,engagethe
parkingbrake,andlowerthehydrauliclift.
2.Shutofftheengineandremovethekey.
3.Lifttheblackrubbercoveronthenegativecable.
Disconnectthenegativebatterycablefromthe
negative(-)batteryterminal(Figure40).

importanttopreventbatterydamagewhenthe
temperatureisbelow0°C(32°F).

2.Chargethebatteryatarateof3to4Afor4
to8hours(Figure41).Donotoverchargethe
battery.
