batterycase.

ChargingtheBattery
Chargingthebatteryproducesgassesthatcan
explode.
Neversmokenearthebatteryandkeepsparks
andamesawayfrombattery.
Important:Alwayskeepthebatteryfullycharged
(1.265specicgravity).Thisisespeciallyimportant
topreventbatterydamagewhenthetemperatureis
below32°F(0°C).
1.Removethebatteryfromthechassis;referto
RemovingtheBattery.
2.Checktheelectrolytelevel;refertoCheckingthe
ElectrolyteLevel.
3.Makesurethellercapsareinstalledinbattery.
Connecta3to4ampbatterychargertothebattery
posts.Chargethebatteryatarateof3to4amperes
for4to8hours(12volts).Donotoverchargethe
battery.
4.Whenthebatteryisfullycharged,unplugthecharger
fromtheelectricaloutlet,thendisconnectthe
chargerleadsfromthebatteryposts(Figure44).
5.Installthebatteryontothemachineandconnectthe
batterycables,refertoInstallingtheBattery.
Note:Donotrunthemachinewiththebattery
disconnected,electricaldamagemayoccur.
