Charging System
Stator Coil Resistance
Disconnect the stator coil lead connector [A].
Measure the stator coil resistance.
(Electric Starter Model)
Connect an ohmmeter between stator pins [B].
Stator Coil Resistance
0.1 0.14
If the measured value is not within the specification, re-
place the stator coil with a new one.
If the coil has normal resistance, but the voltage inspec-
tion shows the alternator to be defective; the flywheel
magnets have probably weakened, and the flywheel must
be replaced.
Check for continuity between each stator pin and ground.
There should be no continuity (infinite ohm).
If the stator coil fails any of these tests, replace the coil
with a new one.
Unregulated Stator Output
Disconnect the stator coil lead connector [A].
Connect AC voltmeter to the stator pins [B].
Start the engine. Run the engine at the 3 000 rpm speed.
Voltage reading should be minimum 26 V AC/3 000 rpm.
If the AC voltage reading is less than the specification,
replace the stator with a new one.
Unregulated Stator Output (MIN)
26 V AC/3 000 rpm
