ReplacingtheTracks
Whenthetracksarebadlyworn,replacethem.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,engagethe
parkingbrake,andlowerthegrinder.
2.Shutofftheengineandremovethekey.
3.Lift/supportthesideoftheunittobeworkedon
sothatthetrackis7.6to10cm(3to4inches)
offtheground.
4.Backoutthetensioningboltandjamnut(Figure
46).
5.Pushthetensioningwheelrearwardasfarasit
willgo(Figure47).

6.Beginremovingthetrackatthetopofthe
tensioningwheel,peelingitoffthewheelwhile
rotatingthetrackforward.
7.Whenthetrackisoffofthetensioningwheel,
removeitfromthemachine(Figure47).

aroundthewheel,ensuringthatthelugson
thetracktbetweenthespacersonthewheel

installthetrackaroundthewheelbyrotating

to30ft-lb)totightenthetrack.
13.Ensurethatthetrackdeectslessthan0.6to1
cm(1/4to3/8inch)when20.6kg(45lb)offorce
isappliedtothetrackspan.Adjustthetorqueon
thetensioningboltasneeded.
14.Tightenthejamnut.
15.Lowerthemachinetotheground.
16.Repeattheproceduretoreplacetheothertrack.

lowertrackguidewhichcontainstheroad
wheels,andremovethem(Figure48).
