7.Installtheexpansiontankbyrstinsertingthehose
intothetank.PlacethetankopeningovertheO-ring,
andpushdowntoensureaproperseal.Installthe
#10–32x1/2inchself-tappingscrewandtorqueitto
25in-lb(2.8N-m).
8.Fillthetransaxle,attheoilllport,untiltheoillevel
isbetween1/2and1-1/4inches(between13and32
mm)belowthetopofthellport.

Mobil115W-50isanacceptablealternative.
9.Reinstalltheoil-llporttting.

CheckingtheConditionofthe

ServiceInterval:Every25hours
1.Stoptheengine,waitforallmovingpartstostop,and
removethespark-plugwire.Engagetheparkingbrake.
2.Removethebeltcoverfromtheleftsideofthe
machine.
3.Checkthebeltsforcracks,frayededges,burnmarks,
oranyotherdamage.
4.Ifabeltisdamaged,replaceit.
5.Checkthedrive-belttension;refertoAdjustingthe
Self-propelDrive-beltTension(page24).

Drive-beltTension
IftheSelf-propeldrivebeltsquealsduringoperation(such
aswhenmovedfromneutraltoforwardorreverse),tighten
thebeltasfollows:
1.Stoptheengine,waitforallmovingpartstostop,and
removethespark-plugwire.
2.Raisethecuttingbladestothehighestposition.
3.Removeandretainthe4bolts,lockwashers,and2
spacerssecuringthebeltcovertotheleftsideofthe
machine,andremovethecover.
4.Checkthetensionofthebelt.Itshouldnotexmore
thana6mm(1/4inch)withmoderatengerpressure
appliedtothespanjustabovethemachineframe
(Figure25).
