Neverallowchildrenoruntrainedpeopleto
operateorservicethemachine.Localregulations
mayrestricttheageoftheoperator.Theowner
isresponsiblefortrainingalloperatorsand
mechanics.
Becomefamiliarwiththesafeoperationofthe
equipment,operatorcontrols,andsafetysigns.
Knowhowtostopthemachineandshutoffthe
enginequickly.
Checkthatoperator-presencecontrols,safety
switches,andshieldsareattachedandfunctioning
properly.Donotoperatethemachineunlessthey
arefunctioningproperly.
Inspecttheareawhereyouwillusethemachine
andremoveallobjectsthatthemachinecould
contact.
Evaluatetheterraintodeterminetheappropriate
equipmentandanyattachmentsoraccessories
requiredtooperatethemachineproperlyand
safely.
FuelSafety
Useextremecareinhandlingfuel.Itisammable
anditsvaporsareexplosive
Extinguishallcigarettes,cigars,pipes,andother
sourcesofignition.
Donotremovethefuelcaporllthefueltank
whiletheengineisrunningorhot.
Donotaddordrainthefuelinanenclosedspace.
Donotstorethemachineorfuelcontainerwhere
thereisanopename,spark,orpilotlight,such
asonawaterheaterorotherappliance.
Ifyouspillfuel,donotattempttostarttheengine;
avoidcreatinganysourceofignitionuntilthefuel
vaporshavedissipated.
Fillthefueltankoutdoors,inanopenarea,when
theengineiscold.Wipeupanygasolinethatspills.
Neverllthefueltankinsideanenclosedtrailer.
Donotllthefueltankcompletelyfull.Add
gasolinetothefueltankuntilthelevelis6to13
mm(1/4to1/2inch)belowthebottomoftheller
neck.Thisemptyspaceinthetankallowsgasoline
toexpand.
Storegasolineinanapprovedcontainerandkeep
itoutofthereachofchildren.Neverbuymore
thana30-daysupplyofgasoline.
Donotoperatewithouttheentireexhaustsystem
inplaceandinproperworkingcondition.
Incertainconditions,gasolineisextremelyammable
andhighlyexplosive.Areorexplosionfromgasoline
canburnyouandothersandcandamageproperty.
Alwaysplacegasolinecontainersontheground
awayfromyourvehiclebeforelling.
Donotllgasolinecontainersinsideavehicleor
onatruckortrailerbed,becauseinteriorcarpetsor
plastictruck-bedlinersmayinsulatethecontainer
andslowthelossofanystaticcharge.
Whenpractical,removefuel-poweredequipment
fromthetruckortrailer,andfueltheequipment
withthewheelsontheground.Ifthisisnot
possible,thenrefuelsuchequipmentonatruckor
trailerfromaportablecontainerratherthanfroma
gasolinedispensernozzle.
Ifyoumustuseafuel-dispensernozzle,keep
thenozzleincontactwiththerimofthefueltank
orcontaineropeningatalltimesuntilfuelingis
complete.
Fuelisharmfulorfatalifswallowed.Long-term
exposuretovaporscancauseseriousinjuryand
illness.
Avoidprolongedbreathingofvapors.
Keepyourfaceawayfromthenozzleandthefuel
tankorconditioneropening.
Keepfuelawayfromyoureyesandskin.
