StorageSafety
Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,shutoffthe
engine,waitforallmovingpartstostop,engage
theparkingbrake,andallowthemachinetocool
beforestoringit.
Donotstorethemachineorfuelnearamesor
drainthefuelindoors.
StoringtheMachine
1.Raisethecuttingblades,stopthemachine,shut
offtheengine,anddisconnectthespark-plug
wire.
2.Removedirtandgrimefromtheentiremachine.
Important:Youcanwashthemachine
withmilddetergentandwater.Donot
pressure-washthemachine.Avoid
excessiveuseofwater,especiallynearthe
engine.
3.Servicetheaircleaner;refertoServicingtheAir
Cleaner(page20).
4.Changetheengineoil;refertoChangingthe
EngineOil(page21).
5.Greasetheslicer-shaftbearings;referto
LubricatingtheSlicer-ShaftBearings(page19).
6.Forstorageover30days,preparethemachine
asfollows:
A.Addapetroleum-based
stabilizer/conditionertofuelinthe
tank.Followmixinginstructionsfrom
stabilizermanufacturer.Donotusean
alcohol-basedstabilizer(ethanolor
methanol).
Note:Afuelstabilizer/conditionerismost
effectivewhenmixedwithfreshfueland
usedatalltimes.
B.Runtheengineuntilitstopsfromrunning
outoffuel.
C.Choketheengine.
D.Startandruntheengineuntilitwillnotstart
again.
E.Disposeoffuelproperly.Recyclethefuel
accordingtolocalcodes.
Important:Donotstorefuelcontaining
stabilizer/conditionerlongerthanthe
durationrecommendedbythefuelstabilizer
manufacturer.
7.Checkandtightenallbolts,nuts,andscrews.
Repairorreplaceanypartthatisdamaged.
