5.Allowtheenginetowarmupforseveralminutes,then
movethechoketowardtheOffposition(Figure9).
StoppingtheEngine
1.Releasethebroom-driveleverandthetraction-drive
lever.
2.PlacethethrottlemidwaybetweentheSlowandFast
positions(Figure10).
3.Allowtheenginetorunforaminimumof15seconds,
thenturntheengineOn/OffswitchtotheOffposition
tostoptheengine(Figure10).
4.Waitforallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
5.Closethefuel-shutoffvalvebymovingittotheleft
whenthemachinewillnotbeinuseforafewdays,
whentransporting,orwhentheunitisparkedinsidea
building(
Figure9).
DrivingtheMachine
CAUTION
Ifthetractiondriveisnotproperlyadjusted,the
machinemaymoveinthedirectionoppositeof
whatyouintended,causinginjuryand/orproperty
damage.
Carefullycheckthetractiondriveandadjustit
properly,ifnecessary.
Important:Ifthemachinemoveswhenthetraction
leverisinthereleasedposition,checkthetractioncable;
referto
CheckingtheTractionCable(page22)and
AdjustingtheTractionCable(page22)orcontactyour
authorizedTorodealer.
DrivingForward
1.Placethespeedselectorlevertothedesiredforward
position,makingsureitlocksinthenotch(Figure11).

tobulldozeinsteadofsweep.Thiscandamagethe
bristlesandthedriveline.
2.Slowlysqueezethelefthandtractiondrivelevertothe
handle(Figure12).
Note:Holdingdownthetractiondriveleveragainst
thehandleengagesthetractiondrivetobothwheels.

3.Tostopthetractiondrive,releasethetractiondrive

4.Tomoveforward,engagethetractiondriveandslowly
squeezethelefthandtractionlevertothehandle
(Figure13).Momentarilysqueezingandreleasing
theleftorrightwheelclutchleverallowsforsteering
adjustmentstokeepthemachinegoinginastraight
line,especiallyindeepsnow.
Toturnright,liftupontherightwheelclutchlever
andsqueezeittowardthehandle.Thisdisengagesthe
drivetotherightwheelwhiletheleftwheelcontinues
driving,andthemachineturnstotheright.
