WARNING
Gasolinefumesarehighlyammable,explosive,
anddangerousifinhaled.Ifyousorethemachine
inanareawithanopename,thegasolinefumes
mayigniteandcauseanexplosion.
•Donotstorethemachineinahouse(living
area),basement,oranyotherareawhereignition
sourcesmaybepresent,suchashotwaterand
spaceheaters,clothesdryers,furnaces,and
otherlikeappliances.
•Donottipthemachinebackwardwithfuelin
thetank;otherwise,fuelmayleakoutofthe
machine.
PreparingtheMachinefor
Storage
1.Onthelastrefuelingoftheyear,addfuelstabilizerto
freshfuel.
2.Addthetreatedfueltothemachineandruntheengine
for10minutes.
3.Drainthefuelfromthefuelsystem;referto

4.Runthemachineuntiltheenginestopsfromrunning
outoffuel.
5.Primetheengineandstartitagain.
6.Allowtheenginetorununtilitstops.
7.Allowittocool.
8.Disconnectthespark-plugwire.
9.Removethesparkplug,add30ml(1oz)ofengineoil
throughthespark-plughole,andpullthestarterrope
slowlyseveraltimes.
10.Looselyinstallthesparkplug.
11.Disposeofanyunusedfuelproperly.Recycleit
accordingtolocalcodes,oruseitinyourautomobile.
Note:Donotstorestabilizedfuelformorethan
90days.
12.Cleanthemachinethoroughly.
13.Touchupchippedsurfaceswithpaintavailablefroman
AuthorizedToroServiceDealer.Sandaffectedareas
beforepainting,andusearustpreventativetoprevent
themetalpartsfromrusting.
14.Tightenallloosescrews,bolts,andlocknuts.Repairor
replaceanydamagedparts.
15.Coverthemachineandstoreitinaclean,dryplace
outofthereachofchildren.Allowtheenginetocool
beforestoringitinanyenclosure.
RemovingtheMachinefrom
Storage
1.Removethesparkplugandspintheenginerapidly
usingthestartertoblowtheexcessoilfromthe
cylinder.
2.Installthesparkplugbyhandandthentorqueitto
20.4N-m(15ft-lb).
3.Connectthespark-plugwire.
4.Performtheannualmaintenanceproceduresasgiven
intheRecommendedMaintenanceSchedule.
