Entrypitch
Theentrypitchistheangleatwhichthemachine
enterstheground.Withthetracksonlevelground,the
stabilizersdown,andthestake-downplateontheground,
thedrillframeangleisabout15degreesora27%pitch.
Thispitchwillchangedependingontheslopeofthe
groundandotherfactorsofthejobsite.Youcanalso
reducethispitchabitbybuildingupthegroundunder
thestake-downplatebeforepositioningthemachine.
Youcandeterminetheactualpitchofthedrillframeby
placingthedrillbitandsondehousingontheframeand
thenusethereceivertodisplaythepitch.
Thesteepertheentrypitchis,thedeepertheborewill
havetobeduetothelimitationsofthepipeexibility.
Typicallyyouneedtoinsertthedrillandatleast1/3ofa
pipeintothegroundbeforeyoucanstartsteeringtoward
thebeginningoftheborepoint.Figure26,Figure27,
