Beforeyoustarttheengineandusethemachine,check
theoillevelintheenginecrankcase;refertoCheckingthe
Engine-OilLevel(page72).
CheckingtheCoolingSystem
Beforeyoustarttheengineandusethemachine,checkthe
coolingsystem;refertoCoolingSystemMaintenance(page
84).
CheckingtheHydraulic-FluidLevel
Beforeyoustarttheengineandusethemachine,check
thehydraulic-uidlevel;refertoCheckingtheHydraulic
Fluid(page90).
StartingandStoppingtheEngine
Tostarttheengine,completethefollowing:
1.Openthefronthood;refertoOpeningtheFront
Hood(page65).
2.TurntheBATTERY-DISCONNECTswitchtotheON
position;refertoBattery-DisconnectSwitch(page34).
3.Closeandlatchthehood.
4.Openthedoorontherearcontrolpanel.
5.TurntheignitionkeytotheRUNposition.
Note:IftheWait-to-Startlightilluminates,waituntil
itturnsoffbeforeproceeding.
6.TurntheignitionkeytotheSTARTpositionuntilthe
enginestarts,thenreleaseit.
Tostoptheengine,turntheignitionkeytotheOFFposition.
Inanemergency,youcanalsostoptheengineandall
processesbypressingtheENGINE-STOPbuttononeitherthe
drivependantorthecontrolpanel.
DrivingtheMachine
1.Startthemachine,andensurethatthestake-down
augersareremovedfromtheground.
2.Ensurethattherearstabilizersareretractedand
thatthethrustframeisraisedoffthegroundinthe
horizontalposition.
3.Walkaroundthemachinetoensurethatnooneisnear
it.
Note:Ensurethatallbystandersareclearofthearea
whereyouwillbemovingthemachine.
4.Connectthedrivependanttotherightreceptacleon
thebottomoftherearcontrolpanel.
5.Withthependantinhand,walkatleast6feettothe
sideofthemachine.
Note:Besuretokeepthissafedistancewhenever
movingthemachine.
6.PressandholdtheOPERATORPRESENCEbuttonon
thedrivependant.
7.UsetheSPEEDswitchonthependanttoincreaseor
decreasetheenginespeedasdesired.
8.SetthedesiredtravelspeedusingtheSPEEDswitch.
9.Usethejoysticktomovethemachineasdesired.

LoadingandUnloadingtheMachine
WARNING
Movingamachineofthissizeonatrailerover
publicroadscarriesriskstothosearoundthe
machineifitshouldcomeloose,beinvolvedinan
accident,hitalowhangingstructure,etc.
Followthetie-downproceduresdescribedin
thissectionwhenmovingthemachine.
Followalllocaltrafcregulationsgoverningthe
haulingoflargeequipment.Thismanualcannot
adequatelycoveralllawsandsafetyregulations;
itisyourresponsibilitytoknowandfollowthe
lawsandregulationsthatpertaintoyou.
WARNING
Themachinecanslipandfallfromatrailerorramp,
crushinganyonecaughtbeneathitandcausing
seriousinjuryordeath.
Keepallbystandersawayfromthemachineand
trailer.
Ensurethatthetrailerandramparenotslippery
andarefreeofice,grease,oil,etc.
Movethemachineontotherampatslowspeed
withtheengineatslowspeed.
Ensurethatyouhavethemachinecenteredon
therampandtrailer.
1.Ensurethattherampandthetrailerortruckbedcan
supporttheweightofthemachine.
2.Ensurethattheupperfrontandrearpipe-holderpins
andthelowerfrontandrearpipe-holderpinsare
installed(Figure35).
