DANGER
Undercertainconditions,dieselfuelandfuel
vaporsarehighlyammableandexplosive.Are
orexplosionfromfuelcanburnyouandothersand
cancausepropertydamage.
Useafunnelandllthefueltankoutdoors,in
anopenarea,whentheengineisoffandcold.
Wipeupanyfuelthatspills.
Donotllthefueltankcompletelyfull.Addfuel
tothefueltankuntilthelevelis25mm(1inch)
belowthebottomofthellerneck.Thisempty
spaceinthetankallowsthefueltoexpand.
Neversmokewhenhandlingfuel,andstayaway
fromanopenameorwherefuelfumesmaybe
ignitedbyaspark.
Storefuelinaclean,safety-approvedcontainer
andkeepthecapinplace.
DrainingWaterfromtheFuel

ServiceInterval:Every50hours—Checkthefuel-water
separatorforwaterandsediment.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,stoptheengine,
andremovetheignitionkey.
2.Openthefronthood.
3.Alignadrainpanundertheprimaryfuellter(Figure
126).

4.Rotatethedrainvalveatthebottomoftheprimary
fuellter2or3turnscounterclockwise,anddrainany
waterandsedimentfromthefuellter(Figure126).
Note:Ifthefuel-waterseparatorhasanywateror
sediment,alsodrainthewaterandsedimentfrom
thefueltank;refertoDrainingWaterfromtheFuel
Tank(page89).
5.Whencleanfuelappears,rotatethedrainvalve
clockwiseuntilitisclosed.
Note:Donotovertightenthedrainvalve.
6.Primethefuelsystem;refertoPrimingtheFuel
System(page90).

andremovetheignitionkey.
2.Placeadrainpanunderthedrainpluginthefueltank.
3.Loosenthedrainpluguntilthewaterandsediment
drainout(Figure127).
