1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,stoptheengine,
andremovetheignitionkey.
2.Allowtheenginetocool.
3.Opentherear-accessdoor.
Note:Looktotheleftwhenyouopentherear-access
door,andyouwillndthedrainplugtuckedawayin
theback-leftcorner.
4.Placeadrainpanunderthedrainplug(Figure141).
Note:Thecoolantcapacityofboththeengineand
theradiatoris16.8L(17.7USqt).

A.Ensurethatthecoolantisdrainedfromthe
radiatorandthatthedrainplugisclosed;referto
DrainingtheCoolantfromtheSystem(page102).
B.Addacoolingsystemcleaningsolutiontotheto
theradiatorthroughthellerneck(Figure142).
Note:Usecleaningsolutionof21g(12ozdry)
ofsodiumcarbonateforevery17L(18USqt)
ofwater;otherwise,useacommerciallyavailable
equivalent.Followthedirectionsthatcomewith
thecleaningsolution.
