SettingupthePumptoUseaNaturalWaterSource
Tosetupapumptouseanaturalwatersource,youmust
ensurethatyouusetheY-screentolterallmaterialsother
thanwater.

4.AttachthehosetotheY-screen,andbeginpumping
fromthenaturalwatersource.
DeployingtheZap-alertSystem
TheZap-alertsystemisanelectricstrike-sensingdevice
onthemachinethattriggersastrobelightandanaudible
alarmwheneverthedrillbit,reamer,orstakebreaksintoan
energizedpowerline.Intheeventofanelectricstrike,the
machinewillbecomeenergized,settingoffthealarm.The
operator’splatformiselectricallyisolatedfromtherestof
themachinetoprotectyou.
DANGER
IftheZap-alertsystemactivateswhiledrilling,the
machine,exceptfortheoperatorplatform,will
becomeenergized.Ifyoustepofftheoperator
platformorifsomeonetouchesthemachineor
wetgroundnearthemachineorinthebore,you
ortheonewhotouchedthemachinecouldbe
electrocuted,causingseriousinjuryordeath.
•TesttheZap-alertsystembeforedrilling.
•Deploythegroundingstakebeforedrilling.
Ensurethatthestakeisfullyinsertedintomoist
soil.
•IftheZap-alertistriggered:
–Stayintheseatanddonottouchtheground
oranyotherpartofthemachineuntilthe
powerhasbeenturnedoff.Donotpour
liquidsorurinatefromtheoperatorplatform
ontotheground.
–Stopdrilling,stopthedrilling-uidow,and
retractthedrilloutoftheground.
–Keepeveryoneawayfromthemachine,
wetgroundnearthemachineorrunning
fromthemachine,andanyopensourcesof
water/mudthatisintheboreandcontacting
thebrokenline.
–Contacttheutilitycompanytohavethe
powershutofftothebrokenline.Donot
resettheZap-alertsystemuntilthepower
hasbeenturnedoff.
