10.Releasetheupperwrench(makeup/breakout
wrench).
11.Pullbackthecarriageapproximately12.7mm
(0.5inch).
Note:Thiswillallowthecarriagetooat,and
willnotdamagethepipethreads.
12.Rotatethedrillspindlecounterclockwise,moving
rearwardslowlyuntilthepipesareseparated.
13.Movethedrillcarriagebackuntilthemale,
pipethreadsjustclearthefemaleendof
thelowerpipe,thenclosetheupperwrench
(makeup/breakoutwrench)ontothepipeend,
butnotonthethreads.
14.Rotatethedrillspindlecounterclockwiseuntil
theupper-pipejointisloosebutnotseparated.
15.Releasetheupperwrench(makeup/breakout
wrench).
16.Movethedrillcarriagebackuntilthepipeislined
upwiththepipeholder.
17.Rotatethedrillspindlecounterclockwise,moving
rearwardslowlyuntilthespindlefullyseparates
fromthepipe.
18.Rotatethepipe-gripperarmsuntilthepiperests
insidethepipe-grippercam.
19.Rotatethepipecamtothedesiredrow.
Note:Filltheoutsiderowsrst.
20.Releasethepipegripper,andraisethepipeinto
theholderrowwiththepipeelevator.
21.Rotatethepipecampastthefourthrowofpipes
totheHOMEposition.
Important:Ensurethatyoufullyretractthe
pipegripper,orthecarriagemaycollidewith
thegripper,damagingthemachine.
22.Movethedrillspindledowntheframeunderthe
thread-joint-compoundapplicator,andspraythe
spindlewiththreadjointcompound.
23.Rotatethedrillspindleclockwise,andmovethe
carriageslowlyforwardtoinsertthespindleinto
thefemaleendofthepipesecuredinthelower
wrench(stationarywrench).
24.Tightenthejointuntilyoureachthefullmachine
torque.
25.Releasethewrenchandcontinue
reaming/retractionasneeded.
RemovingtheLastPipeandthe
Reamer
Important:Donotpullthedrillheadintothepipe
guide,oryoumaydamagethemachineorthe
drillhead.
1.Usingtheexit-side-lockouttransmitter,enable
theexitsidelockout.
2.Afterthereamerhasclearedtheground,if
youhavenotalreadydoneso,disconnectthe
productbeinginstalledfromthereamer.
3.Connectthedrillinguidpumptoasourceof
cleanwater.
4.Turnthepumpontoushcleanwaterthrough
thepump,spindle,andreameruntilthewater
runsclear.
5.Removeandstorethelastpipe;referto
RemovingDrillPipes(page65).
6.Leavetheleadbarclampedinthelowerwrench
(stationarywrench),butdonotconnectthedrill
spindletotheleadbar.
7.Removethereamerfromtheendoftheleadbar
asdirectedbythereamermanufacturer.
8.Releasethelowerwrench(stationarywrench)
andpulltheleadbaroutofthepipeguide.

Shutofftheengine,removethekey(ifequipped),
andwaitforallmovementtostopbeforeyouleave
theoperator’sposition.Allowthemachinetocool
beforeadjusting,servicing,cleaning,orstoringit.
Cleanupanyoilorfuelspills.
Allowtheenginetocoolbeforestoringthemachine
inanyenclosure.
Neverstorethemachineorfuelcontainerwhere
thereisanopename,spark,orpilotlight,such
asonawaterheateroronotherappliances.
FinishingtheJob
Completethefollowingaftereachdayofuse:
Connectthehandsprayguntothequick
disconnectlocatedattherearcompartment,and
cleanthemachinewithcleanwater;referto
CleaningwiththeSpray-HoseAttachment(page
107).
Addgreasetothegreasettings;refertoGreasing
theMachine(page74).
Iftheairtemperatureisbelowfreezingorwill
bebeforethenextuse,refertoPreparingthe
Drilling-FluidSystemforColdWeather(page104).
