cleanthefueltank.
Drainandcleanthetankifthefuelsystembecomes
contaminatedorifthemachinewillbestoredfor
anextendedperiodoftime.Usecleanfueltoush
outthetank.RefertoDrainingWaterfromtheFuel
Tank(page82)fordraininginstructions.
Note:Performthisprocedurewhenthefuellevelis
low,toavoiddrainingalargevolumeoffuel.

BatterySafety
Turnoffthebattery-disconnectswitchbefore
repairingthemachine.
Chargethebatteryinanopen,well-ventilated
area,awayfromsparksandames.Unplugthe
chargerbeforeconnectingordisconnectingthe
battery.Wearprotectiveclothinganduseinsulated
tools.
ServicingtheBattery
ServiceInterval:Every50hours—Checkthebattery
condition.
Important:Beforeweldingonthemachine,
disconnectthenegativecablefromthebatteryto
preventdamagetotheelectricalsystem.Also,
disconnecttheengineandmachinecontroller
beforeweldingonthemachine.
Note:Checkthebatteryconditionweeklyorafter
every50hoursofoperation.Keeptheterminalsand
theentirebatterycasecleanbecauseadirtybattery
dischargesslowly.Tocleanthebattery,washthe
entirecasewithasolutionofbakingsodaandwater.
Rinsewithclearwater.Coatthebatterypostsand
cableconnectorswithGrafo112X(skin-over)grease
(ToroPartNo.505-47)orpetroleumjellytoprevent
corrosion.
