disconnectthenegative(-)cablerst.

connectthenegative(-)cablelast.

ametalobject.
•Donotweld,grind,orsmokenearabattery.
Note:Theelectricalsysteminthismachineis12
volts.
ChargingtheBattery
WARNING
Chargingthebatteryproducesgassesthat
canexplode.
Donotsmokenearthebattery,andkeep
sparksandamesawayfromthebattery.
Important:Keepthebatteryfullycharged.This
isespeciallyimportanttopreventbatterydamage
whenthetemperatureisbelow32°F(0°C).
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,stopthe
engine,andremovetheignitionkey.
2.Openthefronthood.
3.Cleantheexteriorofthebatterycaseandthe
batteryposts.
Note:Connecttheleadsofthebatterycharger
tobatterypostsbeforeconnectingthecharger
totheelectricalsource.
4.Lookatthebatteryandidentifythepositiveand
negativebatteryposts.
5.Connectthepositiveleadofthebatterycharger
tothepositivebatterypost(Figure100).
