Greaseinthehydraulictrackishighly
pressurized;ensurethatthetrack-tension
greasevalveisnotloosenedmorethan1
revolutionatatime.
Ifyouremovethetrack-tensiongreasevalve
(foundinthehydraulic-tracktensioner)or
loosenittoomuch,greasecanbereleased
andmaycauseseriousinjuryordeath.
TighteningtheTrackTension
Ifthetrackseemsloose,tightenthetracktensionas
follows:
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,stopthe
engine,andremovetheignitionkey.
2.Removedirtanddebrisfoundaroundthe
track-tensiongreasevalve(Figure109).
Important:Ensurethattheareasurrounding
thetrack-tensiongreasevalveiscleanbefore
beginningtoadjustthetracktension.
3.Removetheretainingboltsandcoverthathouse
thetrack-tensiongreasevalve.
4.Applygreasetothettinguntilthetension
reaches31,026kPa(4,500psi)asshownin
Figure109.
