ServiceInterval:Every300hours/Yearly(whichever
comesrst)
Checktheconditionofthecoolingsystemforleaks,
damage,dirt,andloosehosesandclamps.Clean,
repair,tighten,andreplacethecomponentsas
necessary.
Checkingthe
Concentrationofthe
Coolant
ServiceInterval:Every1,000hours/Yearly
(whichevercomesrst)—Checkthe
concentrationofthecoolantbefore
thewinterseason.
Testtheconcentrationofethyleneglycol-based
antifreezeinthecoolant.Ensurethatthecoolant
hasa50%ethyleneglycoland50%watermixtureor
equivalent.
Note:A50%ethyleneglycoland50%watermixture
willprotecttheengineto-37°C(-34°F)throughout
theyear.
Usingaconcentrationtester,checktheconcentration
ofthecoolantmixturetoensurethatitis50%ethylene
glycoland50%waterorequivalent;refertothe
manufacturer’sinstructionsfortesting.

DrainingtheCoolantfromthe
System
Important:Donotpourcoolantontotheground
orintoanunapprovedcontainerthatcanleak.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,stopthe
engine,andremovetheignitionkey.
2.Allowtheenginetocool.
3.Opentherear-accessdoor.
Note:Looktotheleftwhenyouopenthe
rear-accessdoor,andyouwillndthedrainplug
tuckedawayintheback-leftcorner.
4.Placeadrainpanunderthedrainplug(Figure
111).
Note:Thecoolantcapacityofboththeengine
andtheradiatoris16.8L(17.7USqt).
