1.Draintheoilfromtheengine;refertoChangingthe
Oil(page26).
2.Placeashallowpanorragundertheltertocatchthe
oil.
3.Removetheoldlter(Figure31)andwipethesurface
ofthegasketsealonthelterhead.

4.Applyathinlayerofcleanoiltothegasketsealofthe
newoillter.
5.Applyathincoatofthecleanoilofthepropertype
throughthecenterholeofthelter.
6.Allow2minutesfortheoiltobeabsorbedbythelter
material,thenpouroffanyexcessoil.
7.Installthereplacementoilltertothelteradapter.
Turntheoillterclockwiseuntiltherubbergasket
contactsthelteradapter,thentightenthelteran
additional1/2turn.
8.Starttheengineandletitrunfor30seconds.Stopthe
engineandletthemachinecool.
9.Checktheengineoillevel;refertoCheckingtheEngine
OilLevel(page15).
10.Fillthecrankcasewiththepropertypeofnewoil;refer
toChangingtheOil(page26).

Undercertainconditions,dieselfuelandfuel
vaporsarehighlyammableandexplosive.Are
orexplosionfromfuelcanburnyouandothersand
cancausepropertydamage.
Useafunnelandllthefueltankoutdoors,in
anopenarea,whentheengineisoffandiscold.
Wipeupanyfuelthatspills.
Donotllthefueltankcompletelyfull.Add
fueltothefueltankuntilthelevelis6to13mm
(1/4to1/2inches)belowthebottomoftheller
neck.Thisemptyspaceinthetankallowsthe
fueltoexpand.
Neversmokewhenhandlingfuel,andstayaway
fromanopenameorwherefuelfumesmaybe
ignitedbyaspark.
Storefuelinaclean,safety-approvedcontainer
andkeepthecapinplace.

Inspectthefuellinesandconnectionsfordeterioration,
damage,orlooseconnections.Tightenanylooseconnections
andcontactyourAuthorizedServiceDealerforassistance
