ServiceInterval:Every50hours—Drainwaterandother
contaminantsfromthefuellter/water
separator.
1.Locatethefuellterontherightsideoftheengine
(Figure27)andplaceacleancontainerunderit.

2.Loosenthedrainvalveonthebottomofthelter
canisterandallowthewatertodrain.
3.Whennished,tightenthedrainvalve.
ReplacingtheFuelFilter

ServiceInterval:Every250hours—Replacethefuellter.
1.Cleanthelterheadandtheoutsideofthefuellter.
2.Turntheltercounterclockwiseandremovethelter
fromthelterhead.
3.Lubricatethegasketonthenewltercanisterwith
cleanoil.
4.Installtheltercanisterbyhanduntilthegasket
contactsthelterhead,thenrotateitanadditional
1/2turn.
5.Starttheengineandcheckforleaks.

servicinga(dry)batterythathasreplacedtheoriginal
battery.Theoriginal(wet)batterydoesnotrequire

Alwayskeepthebatterycleanandfullycharged.Useapaper
toweltocleanthebatterycase.Ifthebatteryterminalsare
corroded,cleanthemwithasolutionof4partswaterand
1partbakingsoda.Applyalightcoatingofgreasetothe
batteryterminalstoreducecorrosion.

1.Stoptheengineandremovethekey.
2.Removetheboltssecuringthebatterytray,locatedon
bothsidesofthemachine(Figure28).
