Adjusting the Cutting Height WARNING Adjusting the cutting height may bring you into contact with the moving blade, causing serious injury. • Stop the engine and wait for all moving parts to stop. Bagging the Clippings Use the grass bag when you want to collect grass and leaf clippings from the lawn. WARNING A worn grass bag could allow small stones and other similar debris to be thrown in the operator's or bystander's direction and result in serious personal injury or death to the operator or bystanders. Figure 13 1. Check the grass bag frequently. If it is damaged, install a new Toro replacement bag. Self-propel drive bar To disengage the self-propel drive, release the self-propel drive bar.

• If the mower strikes an object or starts to vibrate, immediately stop the engine, disconnect the wire from the spark plug, and examine the mower for damage. • If there are more than 5 inches (13 cm) of leaves on the lawn, set the front cutting height one or two notches higher than the rear cutting height. • Slow down your mowing speed if the mower does not cut the leaves finely enough. • For best performance, install a new blade before the cutting season begins.

Ramassage de l'herbe coupée Utilisez le bac à herbe pour recueillir les débris d'herbe et de feuilles déposés sur la pelouse. ATTENTION Si le bac à herbe est usé, des gravillons ou autres débris similaires risquent d'être projetés vers l'utilisateur ou des personnes à proximité, et de causer des blessures graves ou mortelles. Éjection des déchets d'herbe Retrait du déflecteur d'éjection arrière Utilisez le déflecteur d'éjection arrière quand vous tondez de l'herbe très haute. Pour retirer le déflecteur d'éjection arrière, inversez la procédure décrite plus haut. Remarque: Le déflecteur d'éjection arrière est un équipement optionnel que vous devez vous procurer séparément.
– Remplacez la lame ou faites-la aiguiser. – Tondez en avançant plus lentement. – Augmentez la hauteur de coupe. – Tondez plus souvent. – Empiétez sur les passages précédents pour ne tondre qu'une largeur de bande réduite. – Réglez la hauteur de coupe des roues avant un cran en dessous de celle des roues arrière. Par exemple, réglez les roues avant à 51 mm et les roues arrière à 64 mm. Hachage des feuilles • Après la tonte, 50 % de la pelouse doit être visible sous la couche de feuilles hachées.

De maaihoogte instellen WAARSCHUWING Bij het instellen van de maaihoogte kunt u in aanraking komen met een bewegend mes. Dit kan ernstig letsel veroorzaken. • Zet de motor af en wacht totdat alle bewegende onderdelen tot stilstand gekomen zijn. Het maaisel opvangen Gebruik de grasvanger als u maaisel en bladafval wilt verzamelen. WAARSCHUWING Door een versleten grasvanger kunnen steentjes en andere voorwerpen worden uitgeworpen in de richting van de gebruiker of de omstanders. WAARSCHUWING Als u nat gras en natte bladeren maait, kunt u uitglijden, in aanraking komen met het mes en ernstig letsel oplopen. Maai uitsluitend in droge omstandigheden. • Maai steeds in wisselende richtingen. Hierdoor wordt het maaisel beter over het gazon verstrooid, zodat het gazon gelijkmatig wordt bemest. • Als u met het uiterlijk van het voltooide gazon niet tevreden bent, probeer dan een of meer van de volgende stappen: – Vervang het maaimes of laat het slijpen. – Loop langzamer tijdens het maaien.
Onderhoud Opmerking: Bepaal vanuit de normale bedieningspositie de linker- en rechterzijde van de machine. De ventilatieopening in de brandstoftankdop is verstopt. 2. De ventilatieopening van de brandstoftankdop reinigen of dop vervangen. 3. De bougie controleren en indien nodig de elektrodenafstand afstellen. De bougie vervangen als deze aangetast, vuil of gebarsten is. 4. Brandstoftank aftappen en vullen met verse benzine.
Probleem De zelfaandrijving van de maaimachine werkt niet. Mogelijke oorzaak Remedie 1. Er zit vuil onder de drijfriemkap. 1. Het vuil onder de drijfriemkap verwijderen. 2. De kabel van de zelfaandrijving is ontsteld of beschadigd. 2. De kabel van de zelfaandrijving afstellen. De kabel vervangen indien dit nodig is.
